Sam Watson & Floyd Mayweather Jr.
*Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Sam Watson are joining forces to sponsor a charity event this coming Sunday December 15 at Cal State Northridge in LA’s San Fernando Valley in an effort to raise money for cancer research and awareness.
This will be another celebrity basketball tournament that’s put on annually by these guys.
Other fighters and entertainers scheduled to be on hand for this event include Adrian ” The Problem” Broner, Victor Ortiz, “Sugar” Shane Mosley, singers Kelly Rowland, and Tank.
This is a worthy event that’s held as it’s aim and goal is to raise money and consciousness for the continuing fight against cancer.
Admission is only 10.00 and 25.00 for advanced seating.
This is a great event to close out what has been a big boxing year. And one of the biggest fights of the year was Mayweather vs Canelo in addition to that one we had Garcia vs Mattesyee, Arreola vs Mitchell, Bradley vs Marquez, Rios vs Pacquiao, Ward vs Rodriguez, and so many others that I know I failed to mention (so please forgive me).
Just last weekend we saw Zab Judah going against Paulie Maliggnagi in what turned out to be an exciting night of boxing because we also saw Shawn Porter upset Devon Alexander at the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, New York.
And coming up this weekend Adrian Broner is set to go against a tough and skillful Marcos Maidana. This one should put a cap on what has been the most exciting year to date in the world of boxing.
And finally, just when you thought he had faded away, Don “Only In America” King is co-promoting an event in Nuebrandenburg, Germany also this weekend that will feature his fighter Marcus Oliveira who is 25-0 with 20 coming by way of knockout, going against Juergen Braehmer who comes into this one with a ring record of 41-2 with 31 coming by way of knockout.
This one will be for the vacant WBA light heavyweight title. As I always say, we’ll see what happens.
Peace and blessings until next year.
