*Ice Cube is on the receiving end of at least one smack from Kevin Hart in their new film “Ride Along.” …And according to the Hart, it wasn’t one of those Hollywood air-smacks.
You’ll have to see the film to find out under what circumstance the open hand is delivered, but the pair recently spoke about that and other aggressive activity that took place between their brother-in-law characters during filming.
Ice Cube & Chris Tucker
*According to Humor Mill, those clamoring for another “Friday” film are gonna get their wish. A fourth “Friday” is scheduled to go into pre-production next month!
A source close to project says Ice Cube, Mike Epps and Katt Williams are good to go. But the best news is that Chris Tucker is no longer against the planned pic and is most likely joining the cast as well.
On the other hand, so far John Witherspoon hasn’t signed on, but Humor Mill says Universal Studios will make him an offer. Don’t be surprised if Terry Crews, Sommore, Don ‘DC’ Currey and Rickey Smiley are also in the funny flick, too.
‘Single Ladies’ cast
*The trailer for the new season of VH1′s “Single Ladies” has been released.
It appears that LisaRaye McCoy, Denise Vasi, Charity Shea, LeToya Luckett are bringing the drama and the sex in season 3 … just what the audience wants and expects.
BTW, the new season will feature former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett as Felicia Price. In case you’re wondering, the character is described as cold and dismissive and founder of Price Management, the premiere music management company in the country.
The season premiere of Single Ladies premieres in January 2014.
*Oh shoot! Mint Condition is keeping the old school alive. The group’s eighth studio album, “Music @ the Speed of Life” is out. Lead by “Believe In Us,” the album is the band’s way of reconciling the past and the present. During a recent interview, the group commented that, “We all feel ‘Music @ the Speed of Life’ is our best since ‘Definition of a Band.’ It’s fresh and modern, musically challenging and always a nod to the past.”
*Though Brandy has been in the public eye since the early ’90s, with the recent release of her sixth LP, “Two Eleven,” the singer is prepared to offer fans a deeper glimpse into herself as an artist. “I really feel like this album reawakened the artist in me,” she tells The BoomBox. “It’s been a while since I’ve had this much confidence and belief in what I’ve been doing. For a long time I didn’t know what was gonna happen and what I was gonna do in music or if I even had a place still in it.” Aided by songwriters like Sean Garrett, the songstress has returned after a four-year hiatus without breaking a sweat, reclaiming her spot without missing a beat. *Supermodel Selita Ebanks has most likely participated in her last Victoria Secret’s Angel campaign, according to Starpulse. Ebanks failed to make the cut for the the brand’s annual underwear extravaganza show last fall and now reveals that she fears her time as an Angel has come to an end. The supermodel has been in several of the lingerie fashion shows in the past, but was not included in this latest line-up that took place back in New York City in November of this year. *Dang, just like that, the hope that Chris Tucker would return to “Friday” is snatched away.
The comedian has serious doubts that the same charm naturally cultivated in the first film will be possible to duplicate in a fourth. Chris publicly shared his doubts of reuniting with Ice Cube for another chapter.
Although the cast hasn’t been finalized, Cube is saying even if ‘Smokey’ doesn’t show, the movie is still going to be great.
“Well, my magic is still here so the movie is going to get done. The movie is going to be funny, and it’s going to live up to all the long-anticipated wait,” the rapper-actor told The Huffington Post.
“I would hope that he’ll be a part of it. He’s more than welcome to be a part of it,” Cube added. “It’s a trip, because you’re looking and somebody says that ‘the magic is not even there’ who’s never even tried it.”
For all the doubters, the ‘Craig’ says the first flick was such a huge success that if he and the comedian reunite, a new installment would be equally successful.
“We put the first one together and we can put another one together. So he should really trust that, and do what his fans want him to do,” Cube argued. “You should never out grow your fans. And if the fans want him to do this movie, that’s what we’re in this for, then that’s what he should do.”
*‘Friday’ is a highly sought after series with lots of laughs, jokes, reminiscent memories, and of course, Smokey.
Yes, he’s still an issue at this point.
Executive producer Ice Cube says even though Chris Tucker has been resistant, he’s been written into the script, anyway.
It’s still not official whether or not he’ll join the cast, but Cube assures the fourth is going to be great.
“I’m waiting to give it to them, but it’s politics and it’s economics getting it to where it needs to be,” Cube told MTV News over the phone. “It’s moving in the right direction to get made, but it just ain’t moving as fast as I want it … but it’s happening.”
*Years after their fallout, it appears Chris Tucker and Ice Cube are still at odds, and there won’t be another ‘Friday’ with the friend down the street named “Smokey.”
Rumors arose when Cube announced that there would be a “Last Friday,” and that his former porch-mate would appear in it.
But it’s not looking like Tucker will bless us this time around.
In fact, the comedian/actor sat down with Tom Joyner, and discussed his surface issues with the flick.
“I talked to Ice Cube because it’s such a big rumor, and people get mad if you say you ain’t doing something, so I’m real careful. They’re workin’ on a script. I don’t think it’ll be as special as the first one. We’ll see what happens, but I doubt it that I’ll do another ‘Friday,’” says Tucker.
