Singer Keri Hilson attends Lifetime’s “Steel Magnolias” Premiere Event on October 3, 2012 in New York City
*Keri Hilson says she fell ill during a flight on Friday and blames lack of sleep for the health scare.
The singer has been in China this week, and was on a flight back to the States when she apparently began vomiting and passed out.
The 29 year old tweeted this morning: “Sure hope my day gets better cuz this morning I’m having so far… I fainted on my flight. then I threw up. I’m fine now, I just need real rest… haven’t had more than 3.5 hrs of sleep in 48hrs.”
Hilson went on to say she was so distracted by her illness she left several personal belongings on the flight: “I left my purse & gifts from China on the plane, discombobulated. *sigh* drinking gatorade & HOME-bound. I’m good now…”
Robin Roberts has been on the job, in a way, keeping fans and followers updated about her health.
She endured a bone marrow transplant after being diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare blood disorder.
But she’s doing well. According to her latest update, the “Good Morning America” co-anchor’s recovery is going well.
“Today is what I like to call ‘Thankful Thursday, aka Friday Eve.’ I have been in the hospital 25 days now. My bone marrow transplant took place exactly two weeks ago. The only numbers that matter are my blood counts and they are… GREAT!” Roberts wrote in a blog post on GMA’s website.
Though she’s in good spirits, Robin admits she has some bad days of intense pain and minimal appetite.
“My doctors and rock star nurses are very pleased with my progress, and I could not be more thankful for the excellent care I am receiving,” she added. “I have had some extremely painful days and it’s still difficult for me to eat because of all the chemo.”
Chemotherapy was a part of her prep process, explains ABC’s news blog.
While she’s still in recovery mode, family and friends continue to surround her with love and comfort.
*Nile Rodgers fought off a vicious bout of prostate cancer in 2011 after undergoing surgery. But his life hasn’t been the same since.
Founder and guitarist of the legendary R&B/funk/disco band Chic revealed that he’s currently seeking out a medical specialist to help him recover from the damage done from the illness.
He says yes he’s now cancer free, but he doesn’t have full muscle strength in one hand.
“A few hours after this blog post goes out I’ll be heading to yet another cancer specialist — one who’s also a neurologist because it’s clear that I have some nerve damage. When I talked about my first cancer incident it was during a concert with Earth, Wind, and Fire when I lost muscle strength in my right hand.
“My strength has improved but never fully recovered – on the other hand for years I’d suffered partial neuropathy in my left heel but after doing therapy for the cancer recovery it’s completely healed. (No pun intended. Go figure?), The human body is amazing, wonderful, and complicated.”
Former Moesha star, Yvette Wilson, known for her role as Andell Wilkerson, is battling a nasty battle against cancer, says blogger Carlton Jordan.
Fans and supporters of the star are helping her fight the illness through the “CANCER SUCKS” fund. Money from donations will go toward medical expenses not covered by Wilson’s insurance.
This isn’t her first battle against a serious health related issue. The comedian, who also appeared in films like “House Party 2,” “House Party 3″ and “Friday,” also experienced kidney failure, kidney transplants, and cervical cancer.
She beat it the first time, but it’s made an aggressive return even after a long retreat.
When Rihanna decided to show up, the set crew and all involved appeared shocked as she seemed quite well, but no one called her out on it.
During the show, she was seen by staffers hanging out, walking around and eating like any normal, healthy person would.
But sources close to the singer said she had been to every rehearsal until then and that she was really feeling too sick to go to final run through. Allegedly she even had a doctor come to her dressing room. He administered a shot of penicillin before she went on.

As a result, he suffered through clinical depression and used eating as his way out.
“People have heard me talk about this on air,” he says, referring to previous discussion he’s had in the media about his mastectomy and bouts with clinical depression. “It’s been recently diagnosed as emotional liability, which means that I can’t control my ups and downs … and when I feel that way, and I’m at home, I sneak food,” Williams said.
In 1999, Williams was then diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a degenerative autoimmune disease that again thwart him into extreme mood swings and even now he deals with emotional eating.
Hmm, er, cynics would say Montel’s eating issues are caused by the munchies he gets from smoking all that medical marijuana.
