*We’ve been expecting this.
When news first broke about him being object of a warrant, Chad Johnson was supposedly in Cali … in Pasadena.
But according to TMZ, he was popped this morning in South Florida … after a Broward County judge determined the ex-NFL star violated his probation stemming from his 2012 domestic violence bust.
The warrant had actually been issued for Johnson’s arrest earlier this month after he failed to report to his probation officer on 2 occasions. He made matters worse because he failed to show proof of enrollment in a domestic violence education class.
The former NFLer’s probation stemmed from his now infamous (head-butting) domestic violence conviction involving ex-wife Evelyn Lozada last year.
TMZ says Johnson has already appeared in court over his alleged probation violation — and earlier this morning, the judge determined Chad WAS in violation and ordered him to be arrested and jailed.
*Well look who’s back together. Ok, sorta.
None other that Evelyn Lozada and Chad Ochocinco Johnson.
Yes, they were together in a Miami courtroom this morning … the ex-couple’s first since Johnson’s domestic violence arrest back in August.
(Scroll down to watch the video of their appearance.)
At the court appearance, Evelyn asked the judge to drop the restraining order that was placed against him after she told police he headbutted her during an argument, reports TMZ.
After the incident, Evelyn quickly filed for divorce from Chad — after just one month of marriage.
Chad has been on a tour of contrition on TV and the Internet ever since … apologizing left and right … and admitting he has an anger problem. Chad also revealed that he’s getting professional help to deal with his rage issues.
During the court hearing, the judge asked Evelyn if she had been threatened or coerced into making the request to drop the order … to which she replied, “No.”
The judge also asked if she was afraid of Chad … and she also replied, “No.”
The judge granted Evelyn’s request.
Sources connected to Evelyn tell TMZ … the “Basketball Wives” star isn’t sure where the relationship will go, but at the very least, she wants to start talking to him again.
*Are we surprised?
The verdict is in on ex-Miami Dolphins player, Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson.
He has been formally charged with battery on the assault of his wife, Evelyn Lozada; according to the State Attorney for Broward County, Florida.
As previously reported in EURweb, Chad was arrested for domestic violence in Florida on August 11th after his wife found a receipt for condoms, and things turned violent.
Evelyn told police Chad headbutted her; and everything went downhill from there. He lost in job; endorsements, and his wife.
Evelyn has since filed for divorce, because she says the marriage is “irretrievably broken.” Her former husband, however, refuses to sign the divorce papers because he claims he is still in love with her.
Chad has been prominently showing a new tat of his former wife; and his tweets have contained “hidden messages to her” displaying his sorrow.
As for any signs of forgiveness from “Eve,” not so much. The remorse she has shown, through her various interviews, appear to have been for the situation overall.
Her actions, however, seems to give the answer that her lips won’t publicly say: DIVORCE.
