*TMZ is reporting that the Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries divorce has become “a bitter fight,” with Kris’ lawyer intending to put reality TV on trial.
According to the website, Kris and his lawyer, Lee Hutton, want to “expose the M.O. of reality TV” by proving Kim had no intention of staying married to him, but just wanted big ratings for her reality show.
But here’s the kicker – the duo wants to prove their point by asking the judge to allow TMZ and TV stations to broadcast the trial – “something that the judge might find a tad hypocritical,” TMZ reports.
Kim filed for divorce on grounds of “irreconcilable differences.” Kris has countered that he wants the marriage annulled based on fraud – even though he was the one who proposed.
According to TMZ, the prenup “is extremely long and complicated … accounting for what would happen years into the future. “
*Kim Kardashian has issued a short statement explaining why she’s ending her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries.
“I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision,” she says in a statement to E!, which airs her family’s multitude of reality shows. “I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”
Kardashian, 31, cited “irreconcilable differences” in her Los Angeles Superior Court filing on Monday, saying the couple has a prenuptial agreement and asking the court to deny spousal support to Humphries.
Meanwhile, TMZ is reporting that Humphries “is telling friends he and Kim discussed the possibility of divorce, but he believed they could work their problems out.”
Kris didn’t know Kim was actually filing legal papers until this morning, the website reports, “And, Kris is telling friends …the stories that he was cheating on Kim are B.S.”
*Milton Bradley, currently a MLB free agent, and his wife have each filed divorce papers in the wake of Milton’s arrest for allegedly swinging a baseball bat at her, according to TMZ:
Bradley’s wife called 911 on September 27, claiming he was swinging a bat at her, cage style. Milton was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
Milton and wife Monique each cite irreconcilable differences. They were married in 2005 and have 2 kids.
It’s been a bumpy road … Monique filed for a restraining order in January. He’s been arrested twice.
She filed for divorce last February but dropped the case.
For both of their sakes, hopefully they’ll go through with it this time.
*Faith Evans is not letting a little thing like divorce keep her from ensuring her business is handled properly.
According to TMZ, the singer has opted to keep her estranged husband Todd Russaw as her manager, despite filing for divorce from him last month.
“Todd is going to be my manager still,” the site quoted her as saying.” I have a lot of personal things going on right now. My main focus is [my daughter] Chyna graduating from high school next week.”
As previously reported, Faith filed for divorce last month citing irreconcilable differences. The couple was married in 1997, but separated in 2005. They have two minor children.
*After 17 years of marriage and recent separation, George Lopez’s wife Ann has filed for divorce in Los Angeles.
Surrounding the couple’s separation in September, a representative told People.com, “George and Ann Lopez have made the decision to end their 17-year marriage. The decision is amicable and by mutual agreement. They remain dedicated parents, and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation.”
Rumors of infidelity began surfacing in May. According to the divorce petition, filed Tuesday in L.A. County Superior Court by Laura Wasser, Ann cites “irreconcilable differences” and asks for spousal support and primary physical custody of their 14-year-old daughter.
According to TMZ, there is no prenuptial agreement.
In 2005, the couple underwent dual operations after Ann gave her husband one of her kidneys. Lopez had a genetic condition that caused his kidneys to deteriorate.
*TMZ is reporting that the Eva Longoria Parker divorce rumor from this morning is now fact.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Superior Court has confirmed that the “Desperate Housewives” star filed a petition for divorce from NBA husband Tony Parker, putting an end to speculation her marriage is in trouble, the website reports.
Internet buzz had suggested the athlete filed a divorce petition in Bexar County Courthouse in Texas. TMZ.com claimed the case had been filed and sealed by a family law judge, but Longoria Parker’s publicist immediately shot down the story, insisting the reports were “absolutely false.”
But now, Longoria Parker has moved to end the three-year marriage herself – as legal documents were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court early today (Nov 17), according to the website.
The actress cites “irreconcilable differences” for the dissolution of the union and is seeking spousal support from the San Antonio Spurs star. She’s also seeking to drop her married name and revert back to just Eva Longoria.
Longoria Parker’s publicist now says, “We are not commenting at this time.”
The estranged couple married in France in 2007.
