Nicole Murphy, ex wife of Eddie Murphy, goes clothes shopping on March 13, 2012 in Los Angeles
*VH1 has announced the casting of its upcoming hourlong reality series about the ex-wives of famous men.
Tentatively titled “Hollywood Exes,” the unscripted show – which has been granted a 10-episode order – stars Nicole Murphy (formerly Mrs. Eddie Murphy), Jessica Canseco (formerly Mrs. Jose Canseco), Sheree Fletcher (formerly Mrs. Will Smith), Mayte Garcia (formerly Mrs. Prince) and Andrea Kelly (formerly Mrs. R. Kelly).
“These extraordinarily strong women adjusted to and endured a lot while their ex-spouses won fame and fortune defining pop culture for that moment,” said Jeff Olde, executive vice president of original programming and production at VH1.
“Now these women must reinvent themselves again, stepping out of the long shadows cast by their famous husbands and supporting each other as they define the next stage of their lives – this time on their own terms,” he added.
The show, due to premiere this summer, sets out to peel back the curtain on Cinderella tales gone wrong. The five women have been friends for several years and are looking to make a name for themselves outside of their famous former husbands.
*Love it or hate it, “Single Ladies” is coming back next year.
VH1 announced today that it has renewed its breakout hit starring Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy and Charity Shea as three best friends in the world of Atlanta fashion, fame and music. It’s the network’s first hourlong scripted series.
“Our viewers have fallen for ‘Single Ladies’ and its honest, modern take on love, female friendship and dating,” said Jeff Olde, VH1′s executive vice president of original programming. “We’re extremely pleased to give the audience another great season of the series they love.”
Executive producer Queen Latifah added: “We knew from the beginning this show was going to appeal to people everywhere; it’s funny, sexy and smart.”
*Famed relationship expert and licensed psychologist Dr. Jeff Gardere will attempt to get expectant fathers to man up in the upcoming VH1 reality series “Dad Camp.”
Inspired by President Obama’s 2009 Father’s Day speech challenging young men to step up, the eight-episode series follows six unprepared boyfriends and their pregnant girlfriends – all under the same roof – as they work toward becoming dependable and caring parents.
Dr. Jeff will conduct the challenges and work with each couple through a variety of lessons in parenting, honesty and maturity. For example, the six young men are each paired with a child who has not had a nurturing, paternal influence in his or her life. “These challenges help the young men conquer their fear of fatherhood and make a commitment to their girlfriends and new family,” the network stated.
In the season finale, the pregnant mothers will decide if their boyfriends are responsible enough to remain a part of the family, or if they would rather raise the children on their own.

“Obama put that out there,” VH1 programming head Jeff Olde told Fancast. “And then 3Ball came in and pitched this. There are real-world emotional stakes involved. It’s not about winning a prize.”
“Dad Camp” premieres Monday, May 31 at 10 p.m. Viewers can catch a sneak peek of the first episode on VH1.com beginning Friday, May 28. Subsequent episodes will be available on VH1.com every Tuesday morning following their Monday night premiere.
