*An investigation led by former FBI Director Louis Freeh into the Penn State sexual abuse scandal said today that senior university leaders disregarded the safety and welfare of children abused by former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, reports the LA Times.
The Freeh Group’s report said that in order to avoid bad publicity, school President Graham Spanier, football Coach Joe Paterno, Athletic Director Tim Curley and Vice President Gary Schultz “repeatedly concealed critical facts.”
Freeh’s investigators interviewed hundreds of people to learn how the university responded to warning signs that Sandusky — who helped Paterno win two national titles while touting “success with honor” — was a serial child molester.
*Jerry Sandusky is behind bars and awaiting, what will likely be a life sentence, for being guilty of not only molesting his own adopted son (which was not a part of the case), but 45 charges of fiendish sex abuse against 10 boys since 2001.
But even after his diabolical acts came to light and coaching legend Joe Paterno was disgracefully fired for allegedly covering up for him, alumni came forward with huge numbers to support the embattled university. (more…)
*(Via theGrio) – Jerry Sandusky, a top coach in one of America’s prominent college football programs, was convicted Friday of sexually assaulting 10 boys over 15 years in a case that shocked the nation and led to the firing of one its most revered sports figures, Penn State University head coach Joe Paterno.
Sandusky, a 68-year-old retired defensive coach who was once Paterno’s heir apparent, was found guilty of Friday of 45 of 48 counts. He faces life in prison at sentencing, which is weeks away.
Sandusky showed little emotion as the verdict was read, then the judge ordered him to be jailed while awaiting sentencing in about three months. Sandusky half-waved toward family as the sheriff led him away. Outside, he calmly walked to a sheriff’s car with his hands cuffed in front of him.
As he was placed in the car, someone yelled at him to “rot in hell.” Others hurled insults and he shook his head no in response.
Amendola recently invited reporters and producers from various outlets to watch a football game at his home. Allegedly, Amendola held court as all the media types tried to persuade him for an interview with the Sanduskys. The party ended when an NBC producer got busted for DUI.
Dottie Sandusky is claiming that the young accusers in the case simply concocted stories about being molested by the former Penn State assistant football coach.
Media outlets have reported that a young victim claimed he was with Sandusky in the basement and screamed while he was allegedly being molested by Sandusky. The victim knew that Dottie was upstairs—but the victim claimed Dottie never climbed downstairs to the basement to investigate his screams.

*The latest update in the horror story out of the Penn State playbook is occurring this morning with the accused pedophile, Jerry Sandusky, that has been charged with 50 counts of child sex abuse. He was supposed to face his accusers in court, but somehow, some way, he’s had a change of heart. (more…)
