This is a turn around from a series of demanding, overwhelming events made by West.
*The ghost of Drake’s cover story debacle with Rolling Stone magazine is still present as the rapper parts ways with his PR firm ID-PR.
Billboard confirmed the split, which according to a source, was initiated by ID-PR soon after the drama with Rolling Stone.
For the past year, Drake had been working with the firm to handle publicity for his third album, “Nothing Was the Same,” as well as his current “Would You Like a Tour?, “which wraps March 26 with three dates at London’s O2 Arena. Continue reading
*Jay Z’s Roc Nation agency announced today that it will enter into a partnership with Kanye West’s creative house DONDA Music, which works with Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Pusha T, among others.
DONDA, named after the artist’s late mother, provides design services for affiliated acts (including, but not limited to: apparel, album covers, stage design and film projects).
However, its partnership with Roc Nation will focus solely on Ye’s international recording brand and worldwide touring ventures.
*ScHoolBoy Q may be focused on music with the release of his new album “Oxymoron,” but things were a bit different years ago.
In an interview for NPR’s Microphone Check, the TDE rapper admits to a past filled with drug addition that only one person knew about.
“I was addicted for like two years and I would never tell nobody,” ScHoolBoy Q revealed. “Like none of my homies. I wouldn’t tell my girl. I wouldn’t [tell] my mother. Like nobody. TDE didn’t know. The only n—- that knew was Ab-Soul…Kendrick didn’t know. I was his hype man. I was faded. It was crazy.”
