*Larenz Tate and Nia Long’s “Love Jones” chemistry seeped through the screen as their on camera love caused fans to fantasize and hope for a romantic bliss like theirs. And it’s about time the two make that magic happen again.
In an interview with Vibe Vixen, Larenz admitted the two have been yearning for another opportunity to make on camera love again.
“We want to do more films together, and I think it’s long overdue,” the actor said. “We also want to find the best project to do as far as film, and it’s probably going to be in the same world as ‘Love Jones.’”
Oh and what a steamy love it was. You’d think the pair had special kind of connection off camera too.
“My relationship with Nia is incredible. We’re even closer now than when we were doing ‘Love Jones.’ Working with her is extremely easy. We spend more time laughing at ourselves and enjoying the fact that people want to see more of us together,” said Larenz who currently co-stars with Nia in Showtime’s “House of Lies” on cable.
*If everything turns out right, Nia Long could star in the “Love Jones” sequel.
Not a big fan of overdone movies, Long is actually excited to maybe be a part of the possible production.
“The story lends itself to a sequel. Not every film should be a sequel but I’m really honored that the audience is asking about it, tweeting about it … But I do have the passion and the desire to explore the opportunity,” she recently told Urban Daily.

The 1997 original features Long as a photographer and Larenz Tate who romances her with his poetry. So she’s got some history with the project.
“Love Jones is my baby,” she said. “It’s what introduced me to the world, though I had done other films before it. It was my first leading role and the story is so beautifully written and shot.”
But will it be the same? Predictably fans are on either side of the fence saying they’d like to see more of their story as a grown couple with a family and kids. Others despise the idea of a sequel.
*One of the greatest black films of the 1990s is the love story of Larenz Tate and Nia Long in “Love Jones.”
For a person who’s in their late 20s/early 30s, “Love Jones” seems like such a long time ago.
To be exact, “Love Jones” came out in 1997 and was directed by then 24-year-old Theodore Witcher.
Just a few days ago, Nia Long went on Twitter and asked fans if they wanted to see a part 2 to the classic chick flick. The response was an overwhelming yes.
But before we could get to making a part 2, let’s find out what it took to make part 1.

*Can it be that Tyler Perry is ready for a rated R movie? Could he be ready to take on a venture into the sexual conversation of what today’s Love Jones may look like?
It appears that the answer to all these questions may be a resounding NO. But, since we haven’t heard anything from Madea’s mouth, well, we’re stuck in a media limbo.
The Root reported that all of the hoopla over the project is pure rumor. According to their sources (which they didn’t name), the rumor (more…)
