*Toronto’s mayor Rob Ford, who has admitted to smoking crack cocaine and other drugs, declared Thursday as Bob Marley Day in the city.
Ford, was not at City Hall for the annual tribute to the reggae icon.
But this year’s celebration was newsworthy after the mayor admitted to smoking heavy drugs in a “drunken stupor,” and an earlier appearance in the city council chambers dancing to Bob Marley’s iconic song “One Love.”
*The effects of marijuana have been a long debated topic with strong opinions on both sides.
Naysayers say that marijuana is physically harmful, not to mention illegal in most states.Whereas the proponents of legalization argue that there are many medical benefits to this herb that are not fully being used due to it’s mostly illegal status.
With studies on both sides that show both the positive and negative effects that marijuana can have on the human body, it’s hard to know who is right.

*The toxicology report for Justin Bieber’s recent arrest in Miami Beach showed that he tested positive for marijuana and Xanax, a law enforcement source told South Florida’s NBC 6 on Wednesday.
Police obtained a urine sample from Bieber following his arrest last Thursday, Jan. 23, when authorities said he raced through a Miami Beach neighborhood in a rented Lamborghini, cursed at a police officer as he resisted arrest and admitted to consuming drugs and alcohol.
The 19-year-old pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of DUI, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license in Florida. Meanwhile, new police reports surfaced showing his alcohol breath tests were under the legal limit, even for an underage driver.
*President Obama again cast an ugly glare on the race tainted drug laws in a recent interview and in reports from the White House.
He specifically finger pointed marijuana. Virtually all medical professionals have repeatedly said that marijuana use is no more damaging than alcohol, and so did Obama.
If anything, judging from the thousands of family break ups, the mountainous carnage from alcohol related accidents and physical deaths from liquor addiction, marijuana use is far safer than alcohol.
