*It’s about time someone recognizes the beautiful women overflowing in Africa.
Tyra Banks is pioneering her reality show in the Motherland with “Africa’s Next Top Model.”
The expansion is the fourth branch of her highly successful franchise. And so far, Tyra’s tapped Nigerian model Oluchi Onweagba Orlandi to serve as the host and co-producer.
*“The Face” contestant Devyn put a stamp on shame in the modeling industry for Black women when she told Wendy Williams, who was a guest judge, that she doesn’t consider herself a Black model.
It was awkward just witnessing the exchange between the Black women in the room with this 21-year-old brown skinned chick.
In an attempt to relate to the girl, Wendy asked her about the level of difficulty being a Black model.
To her surprise, and Naomi’s, she said, “I don’t really consider myself as a Black girl model. I know what my ethnicity is, but I’m fair-skinned and I feel like I have an international look.”
Say what? What does that have to do with anything?
Namoi was totally appalled by the commentary.
“What the f*ck does she mean? That’s a disgrace! She’s a Black girl.”
It sounds like that Black girl needs some therapy.
Check out the preview below … It’s really interesting, to say the least.
*Tyra Banks has been a busy woman since the start of her career when she was a teen.
She’s done it all – modeled, acted, hosted her own talk show, and – as we reported – is getting ready to produce a new television series “Fivehead.” But her career hasn’t produced what she’s really after – a family.
The former supermodel made an appearance on “Steve Harvey,” and revealed that it’s about that time to settle down.
“I’m ready to have some babies. I want babies!” Banks shouted. “I’ve always wanted them, but I’ve been saying ‘I want babies in three years’ since I was, like, 27. And now I’m 28. No, I’m 38 – I think it’s time. [My eggs are] going to be hard-boiled and fried and scrambled up in there, so it’s time to get those eggs working!”
Who’d be the father? Certainly not Drake, as rumors recently claimed the two were dating. She’s not into younger men.
*In another tale of the fierce and the beautiful, Telemundo model Liza Irizarry is suing Victoria’s Secret bombshell Selita Ebanks for allegedly breaking her nose last year in a fight at a Miami nightclub.
The two hot ladies took it to the ground when the girls were dropping bows over a man. Allegedly, Irizarry was a bit too friendly when she said hello to Ebanks’ man, Terrence J.
“I was in so much pain,” Irizarry, of the Bronx, told the Daily News on Monday, days before she plans to file her civil suit. “My pillow was covered in blood.”
Supposedly Terrence was on his way out when old friend Irizarry ran into him and greeted him with a kiss on the cheek. But an inebriated Ebanks saw it from a whole different perspective. So things got a little out of hand.
“I said to myself, ‘So what, that’s my friend.’ That’s when she hit me on the nose. I went to swing back – that’s when all her friends jumped in. I felt hair pulling and fists coming at me.”
Yeah, her nose was really broken. Now the model is filing a lawsuit for assault and battery in Hudson County Superior Court.
*Remember when you had a CD player and a cassette player in your car?
Matter of fact, remember when you had a walkman?
Those started with cassettes, then they graduated to CDs. But, when is the last time you saw anyone jogging through your neighborhood with either? It’s all about the MP3 or iPod right?
Well, Ford is in agreement with the change and they are preparing to force a technology upgrade in some of their vehicles. (more…)
