*Despite a public brushing off her husband Robin Thicke’s sexualized performance with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards, TMZ is reporting that privately, Paula Patton felt humiliated — and it set in motion the path to their separation.
Sources connected to the couple tell TMZ that Patton felt “utterly disrespected” when Robin virtually simulated sex with Miley on stage. After the performance Paula reportedly got into a blow-out argument with Robin, telling him he insulted her before a huge national TV audience.
What really pissed Paula off is that the performance was a total surprise, notes TMZ. Miley improvised the raunchy part without warning, but Robin played along … and that enraged Paula.
*Robin Thicke will open up to Oprah Winfrey next month in an episode of her interview show, “Oprah’s Next Chapter.”
There will be plenty to discuss. The singer’s summer jam “Blurred Lines” has been described as “rapey” and his bizarre performance of it with Miley Cyrus on the MTV Video Music Awards continues to make waves.
Thicke will discuss the impact of “Blurred Lines” as well as the avalanche of VMAs response, according to Billboard. He’ll also talk about his family life with wife Paula Patton, his role as a father and working with collaborators such as Pharrell and will.i.am.
“Blurred Lines” topped the Billboard 200 for 12 weeks this summer, selling over 5.4 million downloads.
Thicke’s sit-down will air Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.
*Miley Cyrus and her headline-grabbing twerk routine generated 150 irate official complaint filings at the FCC, according to documents received by The Smoking Gun.
Some compared it to the Janet Jackson’s 2004 Super Bowl nip slip on CBS, ironically during an MTV-produced halftime show. That led to a $550,000 fine.
Many of the FCC complaints term Cyrus’s grinding on singer Robin Thicke as “obscene” and “indecent” with one saying, “Had I wanted my family to see a hooker perform a live sex show, I would have taken them to Tijuana.”
Others call for FCC fines to MTV, Cyrus, and even Thicke for allowing the former child star to twerk on him. Unfortunately for the outraged masses, Cyrus’s MTV stunt was broadcast on cable – so the FCC can’t touch it.

*Robin Thicke is finally commenting on his controversial performance with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards, saying that they fully intended to give people something to talk about.
“We knew what we were getting ourselves into. We’re entertainers, and the VMAs is the perfect place for a little shock and awe,” he tells Star in a video interview. “Yeah, we kind of knew when we were in rehearsal. … We were like, ‘OK, if you touch me with your foam finger all over my crotch, obviously a few people are going to have something to say about this.’ But that was the whole point. I mean, the whole point was to excite and provoke and entertain.”
Cyrus previously said she was out to make history with her grinding- and twerk-filled performance. And even though she stripped down to a flesh-colored two-piece, danced around suggestively with a foam finger and repeatedly backed her thing up into Thicke’s crotch, her performance wasn’t sexual, he says.
“I thought it was silly and funny. She was being humorous and naughty. But it wasn’t sexually charged at all,” he said. “That’s who she is and that’s how she likes to dance. And she was just being herself and I was just being myself.”
But the “Blurred Lines” singer, no stranger to controversy, can understand why some people might have been offended by the performance. As for his wife, actress Paula Patton, Thicke says she loved it.
Robin Thicke and Lana Scolaro
*A rep for Robin Thicke’s wife is denying reports suggesting he cheated on her with a woman he took a suggestive pic with after the MTV Video Music Awards.
The photo, which showed him cupping the arse of Lana Scolaro, went viral last week. And it didn’t help that Scolaro told Life & Style magazine afterward that their interaction went much further.
“I don’t think he cared what she thought. I was with him the whole night!” she crowed.
Scolaro claims she met Thicke a week before the photo surfaced in a New York City nightclub, insisting she initially ignored his advances because she knew he was married. The 20-year-old alleges Patton was fine with her husband’s advances towards the socialite – and even joined them when they left the club and headed to a low-key party at the Greenwich Hotel.
Scolaro continues, “I went to the bathroom, and when I came out he was standing there. He turned off the lights so no one could see us, and he started making out with me. He was grabbing me. He was like, ‘I want to get you into bed!’”
Patton’s representative has dismissed the story and tells GossipCop.com that Scolaro is “just a girl looking for attention.”
“Paula and Robin aren’t concerned and are happily vacationing in Florida,” said the rep.
