* Lenny Kravitz has signed on for his first leading film role, playing singer Marvin Gaye in a biopic that will be shot next year. The rocker’s publicist, Carleen Donovan, confirmed the news Tuesday. Kravitz has played supporting roles in the past, including a small part in “The Hunger Games.” Rolling Stone first reported details about the 48-year-old performer’s part in the film, directed by Julien Temple. * Having serenaded the audiences of Fallon and Letterman in recent weeks, neo-soul crooner Miguel brought his brand of ecstasy inducing R&B to Ellen today with a performance of “Adorn”. The show airs mid-day alongside soap operas and commercials for Kias, but the red-suit-wearing Miguel treated it like one of his most sensual nightclub gigs, busting out his best shuffle, before taking it into the crowd of soccer moms. There’s no doubt many of them flashed back to that Prince show in Jersey circa 1985. Watch the replay:

The 75-year-old performer was taken to a Washington, DC area hospital for “joint pain and inflammation that has prevented him from performing.”
He was scheduled to go on stage Saturday at the Howard Theater in DC, but the appearance has been postponed until June.
On the musician’s Facebook page was posted the news and a request for prayers.
“The Brown family wants to extend their thanks and deepest appreciation to everyone for their concern, prayers and best wishes for Chuck Brown during his hospitalization. They ask for your continued prayers.
Brown also canceled a show in early March due to health problems as well, explaining on Facebook that, “I’m under the weather and doctor says I need a couple days rest.”
*Over the years, Rihanna has become a bit more edgy and bit more provocative with her music, her style and even her performances. In a recent interview, however, she claims her shows are not too saucy for her young fans.
At her most recent performance down under in Australia, the singer is caught straddling the barrel of a pink tank on stage. But she says critics are reading too far into the imagery.
“Everybody has their own opinion. But everything isn’t so literal,” Rihanna told The Sunday Times. “Some people can’t understand poetry, some people don’t understand art a lot of people take things so literally and they can’t have fun any more.”
The Barbados native said she’s always been that sexy woman, flirting on the edge of art and porn with her costumes and imagery. It’s just who she is.
*Chris Brown made a great appearance on SNL Saturday night, proving he is worthy of a Grammy and yes, a second chance. He laid out his fabulous dance moves, dressed in a sporty bow tie and leather jacket.
With his new pop tunes and high energy, he wowed the crowd with some popping and some aerial flips, backed by four other dancers. He really showed his audience Chris Brown is a truly talented young man.
Brown brought out his patented dance moves and high energy as he performed the Euro-pop tune ‘Yeah 3X.’ Later, he lit the stage with his performance of “No Bull—t” and definitely wooed the ladies on the stage full of candles in a suave full black suit.
