The teenager was an honor student from Monroe, North Carolina that appeared to be building a relationship with her half sister when she was abducted.

*People all over the country, especially her mother and friends in North Carolina , are still mourning the loss of a young woman who came to visit her half-sister for Christmas in Baltimore and never returned to her mother in North Carolina.
She was obviously an integral part of her community and school when you look at the outpouring of interest and love that was put into finding her for months.
She will never be forgotten and the FBI appears to be determined to keep the case alive. (more…)
*The relentless 4-month manhunt for a North Carolina honor student who had been in Baltimore visiting over the Christmas break has ended in tragedy.
The young woman’s naked body was found in Maryland’s Susquehanna River on Wednesday. Authorities also found a man’s body during the search. A tattoo on her right leg confirmed her identity.
Phylicia Barnes, 16, had come to Baltimore to spend time with her half sister during Christmas break. The last time anyone heard from her is in a post on Facebook where she said she was at her sister’s apartment with her sister’s boyfriend. (more…)
