*It’s been just about six months since Kanye West’s latest album “Yeezus” has been in the streets, and already he’s preparing for next studio release, reports Billboard.
During an interview with Elliott Wilson for Life + Times, Q-Tip, who is working on a solo album of his own, “The Last Zulu,” shared that he and Rick Rubin will be behind the boards for Ye’s follow-up: “I’m producing Kanye’s new album with Rick Rubin, I’m doing that, so that’s coming up.”
Ye’ told Philly’s Power 99 that he’s currently recording and hopes to release the album in the summer of 2014.
“I haven’t named my next album but I have started on it,” he said. “I write down philosophies all the time. I have some thoughts and I just constantly… everytime I think of it I write it. I’m working on it.”
“I’d like to have another album out by next summer,” he continued.
West also confirmed that he has a remix with Miley Cyrus coming up. Rumors of her involvement in a remix for his “Black Skinhead” track started in August, shortly after Cyrus’ 2013 MTV VMA performance.
*For Fantasia, when Jet reused an old photo of the singer for a recent cover, it was a travesty. Though Ebony/Jet apologized, she couldn’t let it go.
“It wasn’t for anyone but me. I worked so hard to get to where I am now. And I don’t want to take it back, I want to move forward,” Fantasia told Power 99 in Philadelphia.
She continued, “It was almost like using me as the clown act. I’m not that girl anymore. So I just wanted them to know, don’t take it back 10 years, when I’ve worked so hard and did a shoot for 10 hours, to show the new look with the new music, that’s all.”
She’s had her say and given the magazine a piece of her mind. She’s forgiven the magazine and wouldn’t mind doing an interview with them again in the future.
But then there is the issue of that ”off-color” remark made by Jet‘s Editor-In-Chief online, about having to write an apology for someone who “can’t even read.”
To this, Fantasia seems to offer a very cryptic message. “…I wasn’t saying I couldn’t read, but, I hate to read. But that has changed for me now, because one thing I do read is my contracts. Because I will not allow anybody to mess me up.”
Watch as Fanny breaks it down:
*Lupe Fiasco is an outspoken artist who trails the path for younger and even older rappers in the industry.
His witty tongue and courageous heart has won him the reputation of being a politically conscious artist, truly saying what he’s observed.
His most recent controversy stems from his thoughts about the president.
On a radio interview with Philly’s Power 99, he blatantly said Obama is a baby killer.
“One hand, you have someone who is a great speaker, but kills little children – our president,” he noted. “I’m talking about ordering a drone attack. Ordering drone attacks that go and kill mothers, innocent bystanders, children. Militants too, but the collateral damage. You’re responsible for that, too.”

Lupe was referring to the recent drone attacks on alleged Al Qeda forces. However, drones are increasingly being used more to enforce the law domestically.
The rapper isn’t fazed by the president’s intentions. Instead, he believes the president is responsible for all life taken by his hand.
“Drug dealers can say the same thing. I didn’t mean to kill all the people in the restaurant. I was just trying to get that one dude who killed my cousin. Just so happened that that little girl was there. Same thing.”
