*Rashida Jones is keeping it in the family for her TBS comedy pilot “Tribeca,” with her real life parents Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton set to portray her mother and father in the series.
Also set for a guest starring/potential recurring role in the pilot is Alfred Molina, with Lisa Kudrow in talks for a cameo, reports Deadline.com.
Directed by Steve Carell from a script he wrote with his wife, Nancy Carell, “Tribeca” is a satirical look at a police procedural anchored by Angie Tribeca (Rashida Jones), a 10-year veteran of the LAPD.

TBS has hired Deon Cole for the comedy pilot “Tribeca,” directed by Steve Carell; Edi Gathegi of “Twilight” fame joins TNT’s supernatural medical drama “Proof”; Malcolm Barrett joins NBC’s comedy pilot “Mission Control” and “Revolution” actor Derek Webster has booked ABC alien drama pilot “The Visitors.”
Co-written by Carell and his wife, Nancy Carell, TBS’ “Tribeca” is a satirical look at a police procedural anchored by Angie Tribeca (Rashida Jones), an outspoken 10-year veteran of the LAPD’s elite RHCU (Really Heinous Crimes Unit). Cole will play Officer DJ Tanner, head of the K-9 unit. He most recently hosted his own TBS series “Deon Cole’s Black Box.”

*TBS has handed an eight episode order to “Funniest Wins,” an hourlong comedy competition from Marlon Wayans, reports Variety.
Produced by Workaholic/Marlon and Eyeworks USA, “Funniest Wins” follows Wayans and his comedian friends and family as they search for the funniest multi-talented comedian out there, often pitting YouTube sensations against comedians who have honed their craft on stage.
The goal of each segment is to make people laugh, or be sent home.
The season’s winner will nab a cash prize along with the chance to star in an online series for Wayans’ digital comedy destination WhatTheFunny.com.

The actress has signed on to play the lead in TBS‘ single-camera comedy “Tribeca,” co-created and directed by Steve Carell.
Co-written by Carell and his wife, actress Nancy Carell, “Tribeca” is a satirical look at a police procedural anchored by Angie Tribeca (Jones), an outspoken 10-year veteran of the LAPD’s elite RHCU (Really Heinous Crimes Unit). The project explores an eccentric but brilliant group of people who investigate crime, reveal way too much personal information, and refuse to rest until justice has been served…sort of. A lone wolf, Angie is not thrilled when told she has to work with a partner.

*Cee Lo Green is no longer facing sexual assault charges filed last year after a woman said he put Molly in her drink.
But “The Voice” judge has still been charged with furnishing ecstasy, or MDMA, to the woman when they met at a sushi restaurant for dinner, according to TMZ.
Los Angeles prosecutors reportedly have thrown out the sexual assault charges based on lack of sufficient evidence. The unidentified woman told police that after Green slipped a drug in her drink, she later woke up naked in bed with him with no recollection of how she got there, the gossip site reports. The singer has denied the allegations.
Green, 39, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, may be arraigned on the drug charge as early as Monday afternoon.
In other Green news, his TBS reality show, “The Cee Lo Life,” which follows the star in his professional exploits, will debut in 2014.
