*Our first lady has just scored another first.
Michelle Obama has topped the first ever best dressed list from UK’s Sunday Times newspaper, with editors commending her for using fashion as a “force for good.”
The Sunday Times Style magazine described Michelle, 49, as “understanding that, as her primary role as first lady is visual, fashion can be a force for good used to inspire and entertain.”
Other names on the list included Queen Elizabeth, Home Secretary Theresa May, Victoria Beckham, artist Grayson Perry’s drag alter-ego “Claire,” 6-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and actress Dame Helen Mirren.
Tiffanie Darke, the Sunday Times Style magazine’s editor, said: ”The diverse nature of this list demonstrates the importance of fashion in the overall conversation, confirming the role clothes play in creating a visual manifesto.”
Meanwhile, singer Lady GaGa earned the dubious distinction of being named Worst Dressed by the magazine’s editors and contributors.

”We’re always talking about getting together. We always have cups of tea and dinners together. We’re all friends at the end of the day,” she told London’s Daily Mirror newspaper.
As for reuniting with Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel C for the Olympics, she said: ”It was lovely. Those four girls mean everything to me. We had such an amazing time. We were hanging out in the dressing room all day because we had to get there at 10am on Sunday morning. We had a great time … we were just hanging out, playing music and gossiping with each other. It was a lovely, proper girlie time.”
Mel wouldn’t reveal many details about a possible future reunion but said it was on their agenda. ”We haven’t had any actual conversations except raving about the Olympics so far, but yeah … we’ll see,” she said.
Before Sunday, the group last performed together in 2008 as part of their comeback tour.
*Beyoncé says she wants Victoria Beckham to design some outfits for her future concert tours, a task that is usually handled by her mother Tina Knowles.
According to London’s Mirror newspaper, the singer was impressed with Beckham’s latest collection and has contacted her to discuss a future collaboration.
“Beyoncé is a big fan of Victoria’s work, and was given a couple of samples from the new collection – including some sunglasses which she has been wearing at any given opportunity, a source told the newspaper. “Victoria was flattered and has agreed, in principle, to suggest some designs.”
The source added: “While Beyoncé already has the sunnies and a few dresses, it is Victoria’s more elegant full-length designs that she particularly loves as they are a real departure from her usual glitzy stage costumes. This collaboration could be the start of something big.”
