Jennifer Hudson attends the Recording Academy’s 2013 Pre-GRAMMY Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, CA (February 9, 2013)
*Dieting can suck, really badly, especially when the results are short lived and the weight mysteriously reappears on the scale and bulge manages to bulk again.
But weight-loss extraordinaire, Jennifer Hudson, has maintained her tiny figure since dropping what seemed like a ton of weight.
She’s slim and sexy, cute and curvy. How did she do it?
In an interview with HealhtyBlackWomen.com, the singer shared her five secrets to shedding the pounds and keeping them off.
First and foremost, J-Hud adopted a partner to help her through the process. Weight Watchers happened to be her really helpful buddy. This friend, partner or mentor can also be a work out pal or trainer.
She also made sure to have fun by switching up activities including basketball or playing with her son.
Finally, because she’s constantly in the media, making her goals public generated a sense of accountability. It also helps that now her size is attached to her income.
Pink arrives at the BBC Radio Studios in West London (Dec. 5, 2012).
*After performing on “The X Factor UK” over the weekend, Pink rolled through BBC Radio today (Dec. 5) and gave her British fans an unexpected treat – a performance of Alicia Keys’ hit single “Girl On Fire.”
2012 has been a great year for both Alicia and Alecia, Pink’s real name. The rocker’s sixth studio album, “The Truth About Love,” came out in September. Both ladies released their first albums since becoming new moms, and both debuted at the top of the charts with their respective releases.
*Jennifer Hudson and her family have lost a combined 2,000 pounds on the WeightWatchers diet plan since the singer/actress became the face of the brand in 2010.
J-Hud, who has shed more than 80 pounds herself, says her family’s collective success has helped them each to stick with it.
“It’s great because before we eat – say, before a holiday or a big family reunion – lots of us are saying, ‘How many points is this? How many points is that?’ So we’re together on it,” she tells Lucky magazine.
Hudson still allows herself sweet treats on occasion, but reveals her wrestler fiance David Otunga rarely gives in to his junk food cravings.
“Cheating for him is… one chicken wing, instead of skinless chicken breast!,” she says. “He is, like, no carbs; he only uses two or three seasonings, total, ever. He really understands.”
*After losing more than 80 pounds, Jennifer Hudson, one of Weight Watcher’s big success stories, says she’s done losing any more weight.
“I’m at the weight I want to be,” the 31 year old tells Redbook magazine. “But I hear all the time, ‘Don’t lose any more weight, you need to stop.’ People are under the impression that I’m still losing but I’m not.”
In 2009, Hudson and fiancé David Otunga welcomed their first child, David Daniel Otunga Jr. Her body transformation — she went from a size 16 to a size 6 — since giving birth three years ago is something the “Dreamgirls” star says she’s still adjusting to.
“I’m getting used to my new self more than anything else. I got used to being plus-sized and knowing how to be that, whereas this is like, ‘Okay, who am I?’ I keep thinking that I probably need an extra-large or a large and the stylist is like, ‘No, you need a medium or a small.’”
Anyway, you’re probably scratching your head wondering What the Hey-all!? Well, Charles Barkley has agreed to be very unmanly and will wear a dress for a commercial.
The sports analyst agreed to wear fashion diva runway type of attire for the next Weight Watchers commercial, that will begin running April 8.
The theme of this ad is to “lose like a man.” But maybe he’s trying to remind men that it’s not a woman’s thing?
In the campaign, Barkley provides commentary on topics including the “man food” he is never deprived of, reasons why guys don’t diet, dieting on your own and being a role model.
“You can’t give fat people small meals and think they’ll stick to the plan,” Barkley said. “I had to learn how to change my eating habits. Let’s be real: You see anyone who gets fat eating fruits and vegetables? So I’m starting to eat more of them now!”
By the way, Barkley has experience dressing in drag … with two appearances on “Saturday Night Live” — first in 1993, and recently during a hosting gig in January.
