*TLC’s Kickstarter campaign has surpassed its initial $150,000 goal in raising money for its final album after receiving a huge boost from Donnie Wahlberg and his New Kids on the Block members.

Wahlberg surprised the rest of his group by announcing they would donate $10,000 toward the cause, then sought to “make up” for his promise by pledging an additional $10,000 of his own money, he told “Extra.”

“The New Kids are [contributing $10,000] that I put them on the spot for, and I’ll [donate] my own extra $10,000. That’s $20,000 for TLC,” said the 45-year-old reality star, referencing bandmates Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, Jordan Knight and Jonathan Knight. The two groups, along with Nelly, announced their upcoming joint tour this week.

At press time Friday, TLC had surpassed its goal of $150,000, with more than 2,000 backers tossing in a total of $206,324. The campaign still has 26 days to go.

Wahlberg said he wants the perks that come along with a donation the size of his, including a professional photo shoot with TLC members Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins.

“I’m going to be in the video,” he quipped. “I’m going to lip-sync in the video. I want to play bongos during their concert.”

As previously reported, Katy Perry donated $5,000 toward the project and T-Boz thanked her via Twitter.
