Blame Reckless Driving: Community Activist Runs Four Teens Down in the Street

*Folks are scratching their heads about what prompted the act of a community activist as she proceeded to run down four teens who were standing in the street last Friday.

Tamika Pledger, a 38-year-old activist and candidate for the Unified Government Commissioner in Kansas City, was released from jail on bond earlier this week after the alleged act. She is charged with four counts of reckless aggravated battery and could face a possible prison term if convicted.

Prosecutors believe the incident was a mistake.

“You have to do a lot of reconstruction of this and that reconstruction’s continuing,” Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome Gorman said, according to local affiliate KSHB.
