*Ever wonder what happens before the taping of a 30 year anniversary of a mega gospel award show?
Well, our associate, LaCora Stephens, was in full effect at the first ever “Stellar Awards” in Las Vegas. The who’s who of gospel spoke candidly to LaCora about top awards, legacies, new music and more.
Dr. Bobby Jones mentioned, “There are no top winning awards, they’re just people being recognized. God doesn’t judge you on how good you can play or yodel. This is Christian music…I’ll put them all on the same level!” Detrick Haddon spoke on how he turned this to a family gathering, wowing his kids with places like Caesar’s Palace! New comers to the scene like Uncle Reece spoke on his formula to “turn-up” on success, while talk show host, Adrienne Bailon of “The Real” spoke on her platform to showcase “faith-based folks”
One singing group even harmonized their feelings on being on the carpet, which inspired LaCora to serenade Marvin Sapp. Ricky Dillard who was nominated for ten awards looked amazing on the carpet and his spirit was infectious; he definitely had a reason to celebrate such a phenomenal year!
