*Nia Long is ready to walk down the aisle!
The beautiful actress has remained silent since sparking speculation of an engagement after she was spotted wearing a glitzy band on her ring finger recently. Now a rep for Long has confirmed that she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Ime Udoka.
Udoka is a former NBA player and San Antonio Spurs assistant coach. He and Long have been romantically linked for over five years, and they have a son, 3-year-old Kez. Long has another son, Massai, from a previous relationship. Kez is Udoka’s first child.
Throughout their courtship, Long was frequently met with questions about when she and Udoka would tie the knot.
In a 2013 Madame Noire interview, Long spoke about her relationship with Udoka:
“I don’t know [if we’ll be getting married anytime soon],” the actress said in 2013. “You know, he’s assistant coaching for the Spurs, so we spend a lot of time going back and forth to San Antonio. It’s tough. It’s hard. It’s a challenge. But we are committed to one another and our babies. You know, you just do what you gotta do. It was a great opportunity for him, coming from being a player. It was like the perfect way to parlay into his coaching career and so I have to support that.”
During a press run for her 2013 film “The Best Man Holiday” – Long told Rolling Out:
“You have to have an open heart to be vulnerable to accept it when it does come. I think the more success you have as a woman, you kinda go, ‘Well, I don’t really need a man, cause look—I have everything I want,’ but the truth is you do need a partner because at some point in your life you’re not going to want to walk alone.”
