*Iggy Azalea is no stranger to controversy, Twitter meltdowns and Internet trolls.

The Australian rapper has been accused of cultural appropriation, slammed by outspoken Brooklyn rapper Azalea Banks, and back in February, she quit social media after paparazzi photos of her flawed butt in a bikini drew online criticism.

She hit back at critics via Twitter, vowing to quit social media to avoid being drawn into a host of negative emotions.

“I feel the hatred and pettiness i see online at all times is at making me become an angry person and I cannot be that,” she posted. “(I am) taking some time away from social media. I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining. My management will tweet/run my accounts from today onwards with updates etc unless any message is signed-IA. Love you all. Peace out!”

Her hit track “Fancy” has won plenty of awards, including “Best Song” at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards which aired May 17.

Hip Hop fans took to Twitter after her win to express outrage, and one particularly annoyed fan launched a change.org petition asking Billboard to retract the award. Only 25,000 signatures are needed, and at the time of this publication the petition has over 22,000 signatures.

The petition reads:

Iggy Azalea’s 2015 Billboard Award for Best Song has been proven invalid. The eligibility time period for nominations is March 10th, 2014 through March 2015. “Fancy” was released on February 17th, 2014, nearly a month before the eligibility starting. This is unfair to the other nominees in these category, especially to “Anaconda” by Nicki Minaj, who most likely would’ve won. Billboard did not follow their own guidelines and should have to recalculate these nominations without “Fancy” as a nominee.

What do you guys think? We’re guessing this petition, like others related to pop culture, probably won’t amount to much.
