*It’s official. Love her or hate her, Raven-Symone is now a permanent co-host on “The View,” joining moderator Whoopi Goldberg and co-hosts Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez effective immediately.

Her co-panelists made the announcement on the program this morning.

She told them she was happy to be joining what she called her talented mentors and added, “Let’s have some fun!”

The permanent gig comes after 37 appearances as a guest co-host, with a handful of those stints making headlines…perhaps part of the reason she was hired. She famously blasted Beyonce for showing too much skin, said Harriet Tubman doesn’t belong on the $20 bill because she’s not “progressive” enough, and doesn’t think a Univision host was racist when he said Michelle Obama looked like a cast member from “Planet of the Apes.”

Raven-Symone’s first brush with stardom was as little Olivia on “The Cosby Show.” She went on to star in the Disney Channel’s “That’s So Raven.” Recent credits include roles on the ABC comedy “black-ish” and on Fox’s “Empire” as well as the upcoming animated feature “Animal Crackers.”

In 2012, she headlined the Broadway musical “Sister Act,” produced by Goldberg.

“The View” airs weekdays at 11 a.m. Eastern.
