*The Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye) headlined the first night of Billboard Hot 100 Festival  and the sensual singer is receiving high praise for his “mesmerizing, after-dark set” which saw him perform hits like “Can’t Feel My Face” and a cover of Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love.” Peep the video below.

As we previously reported, the Canadian R&B crooner is hitting the road November 3 in Toronto for a two-month tour that will wrap December 19 in Florida. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. August 28, the same day The Weeknd drops his album, “Beauty Behind the Madness.” The album features appearances by Ed Sheeran, Lana Del Rey and Kanye West, according to Rap-Up.

His single “Can’t Feel My Face” has been at the top of the charts for weeks. “Beauty Behind The Madness” is The Weeknd’s first album since his 2013 debut album, “Kiss Land.”

“He’s absolutely one of the biggest artists out right now, and he’s just getting going,” says Sharon Dastur, senior vice president of programming at radio giant iHeartMedia. “Not a lot of artists hit Number One this quickly and navigate all those formats.”

The Weeknd has collaborated with a number of artists, including Sia on “Elastic Heart” for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” soundtrack. He also worked with Ariana Grande on her club-banger “Love Me Harder.”

“At first I was kind of iffy about it,” the Weeknd told Rolling Stone of the collaboration with Ariana. “Five years ago? Definitely not. I was the young starving artist that wanted to do it all by myself.”

The #Weeknd stole the show. “Girl I do this often.”
