*80’s icon Grace Jones has always been a living out loud kind of woman.
An accomplished singer/producer, actress and fashion icon, the “Slave to the Rhythm” singer reflects on her ultra-fab life in a new memoir titled, “I’ll Never Write My Memoirs.”
The book dropped late September and Jones has been hitting the road to promote it.
According to Page Six, Jones is living up to every bit of her wild child reputation by playing by her own rules. At her most recent book signing, she was several hours late, smoked cigarettes while greeting fans and she flashed her boobs while on the red carpet.
Jones’ antics are said to be too much for her publishing house to handle. Reports allege that staffers at Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books, who published her new autobiography, are eager for the supermodel’s press tour to be over.
“She’s not their typical author and they don’t know how to handle someone like her,” a source told Page Six, adding, “The team doesn’t understand the last-minute schedule changes. She’s a star from a certain era who does what she pleases. It’s difficult not to love her because she’s fun and wild, but she does what she wants to do and it has been a huge headache for them.”
“There will always be a replacement coming along very soon — a newer version, a crazier version, a louder version,” Jones penned in her new read. “So if you haven’t got a long-term plan, then you are merely a passing phase, the latest trend, yesterday’s event.”
Gallery Books director of publicity Jennifer Robinson denies allegations her team is fed up with Grace.
“She’s amazing — a force of nature, really — and there’s a reason she’s an icon,” Robinson said. However, she did admit she was “needing some recovery time” after spending all day with the legend.
