*As USC football attempts to stabilize after the firing of its coach Steve Sarkisian this week, former players have been dispatched to the campus for emergency motivation and pep talks.
Keyshawn Johnson, Willie McGinest, Chris Claiborne and Keith Rivers were among the former players to attend practice on Thursday as the squad prepared to face their rival, Notre Dame, in South Bend on Saturday.
Following practice, interim head coach Clay Helton gave a speech to his players as the former Trojans stood in support behind him.
Johnson, currently an ESPN analyst, also spoke to the team, basically encouraging them to tune out all of the outside talk about possible replacement coaches and embrace Helton .
