Whoopi Goldberg Sets Carly Fiorina Straight Over ‘Demented Face’ Comment

Carly Fiorina's "Smile" face at the Republican debate
Carly Fiorina’s “I was told I didn’t smile enough” face at the Republican debate

*Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina will return to ABC’s “The View” on Friday to face the co-hosts who said she “looked demented” at one point during the last GOP debate, and also compared her face to a Halloween mask.

It was Michelle Collins and Joy Behar specifically who said the offensive words last week:

Then CNN’s Brooke Baldwin jumped in with her outrage over the comments:

Fiorina finally responded to the criticism on “Fox News Sunday,” saying there is a double standard for conservative women because they are the biggest threat to liberals and Hillary Clinton in particular.

“It will not stop me. It will not scare me,” she said. “Maybe the ladies of ‘The View,’ if I come back on again, let’s see if they have the guts to say that to my face.”

Watch below:

And that brings us to this morning, when Whoopi Goldberg accused Fiorina of mischaracterizing Michelle and Joy’s original comments.

“Carly will be here on Friday,” Whoopi announced. “But I do want to point out, Carly, that the last time you were here — and you’ll see b-roll running — we welcomed you to our table. We helped raise your profile so you would be included in the sea of men. You weren’t worried about any kind of Republican backlash — nobody was backlashing. We were respectful and gave you your due.

“Just so we’re all clear,” Goldberg continued, “You have to know the difference between when somebody’s coming for you, when somebody is paying you a compliment and when somebody is saying, ‘here’s my observation.’ If you can get that together, maybe you can be president.”
