Orlando Magic Youth Foundation Raises $300K for Central Florida Youth

*The Orlando Magic continues to be a dutiful servant for their community.  On Thursday Dec. 10, the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation held its 25th Annual OMYF Open presented by J.P. Morgan Chase Bank and was able to raise $300,000 at its annual charity golf tournament benefitting at-risk children in Central Florida. All donations were matched by 50 cents on the dollar by the McCormick Foundation.  The affair was well attended; the open had more individuals than last year with more than 205 golfing enthusiasts participating in the golf competition at the Villas of Grand Cypress Resort.  Afterwards, the golfers relaxed at an awards luncheon and shopped at the on-site Magic golf shop.

“Being able to give back and help our community is one of our core values,” Magic CEO Alex Martins said. “Our mission is to be world champions on and off the court, and this is the off the court piece.”

“It was a spectacular and very successful day,” he added. “This is our most successful OMYF Open ever.”

“It is an extraordinary feeling to be part of the DeVos Family who are philanthropic,” said Magic Vice President of Philanthropy and Multicultural Insights Linda Landman Gonzalez. “Our CEO (Alex Martins) says this is probably the best part of our jobs on how we impact our community. It’s wonderful to be part of the Orlando Magic, who are world champions on and off the court.”
