Paul Rodriguez Calls Will Smith an ‘A**hole’ on ‘Steroids’

Will-Smith-Paul-Rodriguez*Hey Aunt Viv (Janet Hubert), you’ve got company in the “Will Smith is an a**hole department.”

You see, overall, Smith may be one of the most likeable stars in Hollywood, but according to one of his former co-stars, the rapper-actor was anything but that during his time working on Michael Mann‘s 2001 Muhammad Ali biopic “Ali.”

During a new interview on San Diego radio station Rock 105.3, comedian Paul Rodriguez claimed his negative experience with Smith was so messed up that it completely turned him off from ever working on a film with Smith again.

“I’d never work with him again,” Rodriguez said, according to the Daily Mail. “He was an asshole.”

Detailing Smith’s alleged behavior towards him, Rodriguez mentioned that the “steroids he was using” to get up to 215 pounds could’ve been the reason behind the former “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star’s less than positive attitude.

“There was no cause to insult me or berate me,” said Rodriguez, who portrayed Dr. Ferdie Pacheco in “Ali.” “I’m no angel, but I didn’t have it coming this time.”

Rodriguez went on to state that he although he wasn’t certain that Smith used steroids, he was puzzled at how the “Concussion” star “went from “skinny” to “massive” while working on the Ali biopic. Rodriguez went on to point out a disturbing encounter between the real Pacheco and Smith resulted in a change in Smith’s behavior toward him.

Rodriguez acknowledged that a “drunk” Pacheo verbally went in on Smith in his dressing room as he used racial slurs and argued  that Rodriguez’s character should have a more prominent role in “Ali.” Couple all that with Pacheco feeling Rodriguez should be replaced with actor Andy Garcia and the seeds were planted for how Smith would treat Rodriguez since then.

“From then on, Will never looked at me the same,” Rodriguez recalled.
