Not So Fast: Dionne Warwick Biopic Announcement Now in Question; Gaga Denies Involvement

*Questions of legitimacy now surround the Dionne Warwick biopic that was announced Friday at the Cannes Film Festival.

According to The Associated Press, the production company behind “Dionne,” AMBI Pictures, may have jumped the gun in having Warwick announce the film. As previously reported, LeToya Luckett was revealed to play Warwick and Lady Gaga was announced to play the late British singer Cilla Black.

But a rep for Lady Gaga has since denied that the pop singer is involved in the project.

According to the AP, this is the second time in months that AMBI Pictures, a company founded by Italian producer Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi, was caught blatantly overstating a project. AMBI made headlines in February when it claimed to be distributing a movie starring Pope Francis. The Vatican promptly denied that.
