*As previously reported, VH1 is bringing back its “Hip Hop Honors” this year to celebrate female emcees. Today, Billboard reports that show will pay special  tribute to Queen Latifah, who also happens to serve as the show’s executive producer.

This will mark yet another collaboration with VH1 for Latifah’s  Flavor Unit production company following the one-hour special “Dear Mama” that aired earlier this year.

The ceremony will air Monday, July 11, live from New York.

Latifah, real name Dana Owens, won a Grammy Award for Best Solo Rap Performance in 1994 as well as several nominations including Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2005 and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2008. Her third album, “Black Reign,” was the first album by a female rapper ever to go gold.

Since its start in 2004, Hip Hop Honors has paid homage to hip-hop veterans including Public Enemy, Salt-N-Pepa, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg and MC Lyte.
