*Add Demi Lovato to the list of artists performing covers of Prince songs since the singer’s death on April 21.
On Monday night (July 4), Lovato and her current tour partner, Nick Jonas, performed at the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. The set closed with Lovato taking the stage to sing “Purple Rain.”
Violet lighting bathed the stage as the Boston Pops Orchestra eased into the classic song. Lovato’s last notes were heightened by a round of fireworks.
