*When eight mothers of African Americans killed in police-involved shootings or under racially charged circumstances took the stage to address the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, CNN, MSNBC, PBS and of course C-SPAN aired the presentation.
Fox News Channel did not.
Instead, the conservative-leaning network showed an interview with Karl Rove about demonstrations outside the convention, and a Bill O’Reilly-moderated segment about immigration.
A Fox News spokesperson says that instead of airing the full video of the Mothers of the Movement speech, an audio segment was aired during “The Kelly File” on Tuesday night, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Fox News was also the lone network not to air the convention speech by Pittsburgh Police Chief Cameron McLay about how it’s possible to simultaneously address the needs of police and concerns by minority communities.
“Since it was a discussion about a hot news issue, the omissions leave Fox vulnerable to charges that the network is reluctant to expose its Republican-dominated audience to opinions they may disagree with,” notes The Hollywood Reporter.
