Lyfe Jennings' Ex Fears for Her Life, Gets 'Order of Protection' Against Him

*It’s safe to say that many folks know more about singer Lyfe Jennings personal drama than they do about his R&B music. In the latest, TMZ is reporting that Lyfe has been slapped with restraining order by Joy Bounds, his ex and mother of his two sons. According to court docs, Jennings is accused of trying to brainwash their boys against her and threatened her with violence.

Lyfe was arrested in 2008 and reportedly sentenced to prison for 3 years for kicking down the door of Joy’s residence, firing shots, and leading police on a high-speed chase. Since then, Joy claims he still has a violent temper and continues to make threats like “I’m gonna remember this” and telling her she was “not that hard to find.”

EUR/Electronic Urban Report chatted with his brother Jay Rush a while back and he pretty much told us that he doesn’t have the best relationship with his brother, who industry players have labeled a major “a**hole,” and difficult to work with. Jay believes his brother’s reputation has had a tremendously negative impact on his own career in the music biz.

In related news, RollingOut notes how in July, Jennings expressed regret for getting involved with toxic Karlie Redd during season five of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.”

“I don’t wanna bad-mouth the lady, man, but again, I feel like I’m overqualified for that position right there,” he said during an interview on the “Ryan Cameron Morning Show with Wanda Smith.” “It’s always gossip with her.” He went on to say that Redd was messy, leading him to question whether “this someone I really want to introduce my children to? Is this a role model for my children?”

Meanwhile, Joy maintains that Lyfe continues a campaign of brainwashing their kids, recently taking them to a park and feeding them lies about her.

Lyfe told TMZ that he has never threatened Joy or the kids, and that his ex is simply throwing a tantrum because he cussed her out about being a bad mother. Despite his claims that he’s a great dad, the judge has issued a temporary restraining order, keeping Lyfe 200 yards away from Joy and the 2 boys.
