*Last week, Solange (Knowles) went to a Kraftwerk concert in New Orleans with her 11 year-old son, his friend, and her husband. During the event, she experienced a hostile incident with some white women who demanded that she sit down and stop dancing. Solange tweeted that when she didn’t comply, the women assaulted her with a lime wedge.
Acknowledging that she, her husband, her young son, and her son’s friend were four of a small minority of African-American faces in the audience, Knowles wrote that while dancing to one of her favorite Kraftwerk songs, “4 older white women yell to me from behind ‘Sit down now.’ I tell them I’m dancing at a concert. They yell, ‘you need to sit down now.’” Then, according to Solange, they threw a lime at her.

“You’re full of passion and shock, so you share this story on Twitter, hands shaking, because you actually want these women to face accountability in some kind of way. You know that you cannot speak to them without it escalating because they have no respect for you or your son, and this will only end badly for you and feel it’s not worth getting the police involved.”

She goes on to explain how the media misrepresented her story, because she never said that the women who harassed her were racist, per Vulture.com.
Knowles also faced backlash because of her tweets about the incident. You know some white folks do not like to see black folks live. Anytime black folks speak about their personal space being violated by agents of white privlidge, we are accused of pulling the race card by the same folks who serve the deck.
