*Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West met with a special guest backstage during ‘Ye’s Saint Pablo show on Tuesday night (Nov. 1).
In a photo shared by his family’s attorney, the couple posed with 16-year-old Cameron Sterling, the eldest son of Alton Sterling, the 37-year-old man who was shot and killed by two white Baton Rouge police officers in July.
“Shoutout to @kanyewst & @KimKardashian for showing 16th bday love last night to my client #CameronSterling, eldest son of @AltonSterling,” wrote attorney and South Carolina State Rep. Justin Bramberg about the photo at the Forum in Inglewood, California. Bramberg is representing the Sterling family in a wrongful death suit against the Baton Rouge Police Department.

In the immediate aftermath of the killing, Kanye footage of the incident on Twitter and Kim wrote an emotional essay about the impact the incident had on her as a mother.
“I want my children to grow up knowing that their lives matter,” she wrote. “I do not ever want to have to teach my son to be scared of the police, or tell him that he has to watch his back because the people we are told to trust — the people who ‘protect and serve’ — may not be protecting and serving him because of the color of his skin.”
In July, Cameron Sterling got a chance to meet President Obama at a town hall meeting. He had a simple request of POTUS: “I ask your help to unite all the races of this world.”
