Newcomer Anderson .Paak Gets Soul Train Award; Beyonce Dominates

*In case you are not up on Anderson .Paak, we advise you right here and right you now to get ready ’cause he’s a star in the making.

As proof, the 30-year-old Oxnard, California native – who’s signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label – just won a key honor at the Soul Train Awards.

Not only is he music industry’s hardest working musicians, .Paak is finally starting to get the props he deserves by taking home the 2016 Soul Train Award for Best New Artist in addition to the Centric Certified Award.

During his performance on the awards show, he surprised folks by bringing out BJ The Chicago Kid and the two absolutely had the joint rocking.

And like a lot of folks, India.Arie was real impressed with what .Paak was cookin’:

In other Soul Train Awards news, Beyonce pretty much dominated the show, which aired Sunday night on BET and Centric, picking up four trophies, including Song of the Year and Video of the Year for “Formation” from her new album “Lemonade.”

Meanwhile, Fat Joe and Remy Ma featuring French Montana and Infrared took home two awards of their own, Rhythm & Bars Award (Formerly Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year) and Best Collaboration, for their smash hit “All the Way Up.”

Erykah Badu hosted and executive produced the show, the first since BET Networks acquired Soul Train earlier this year.
