*Not too long ago, Kevin Hart famously gave struggling comedian Tiffany Haddish some money to pay for a hotel room after realizing she was sleeping in her car.

Today, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Haddish has been cast opposite Hart in Universal’s comedy “Night School,” about a group of misfits who are forced to attend adult classes in the long-shot chance they’ll pass the GED exam.

The project will also see Haddish reunite with Universal, “Girls Trip” director Malcolm D. Lee and producer Will Packer. Packer will produce for his Will Packer Productions alongside Hart, who will produce via his Hartbeat Productions banner. James Lopez, head of motion pictures for Will Packer Productions, will executive produce.

Based on a story by Hart, “Night School” was written by Hart, Harry Ratchford, Joey Wells and Matt Kellard, with additional script work by Nick Stoller.

The film is set for a Sept. 28, 2018, release.

Haddish is coming off of a breakout role in “Girls Trip,” which just crossed the $100 million mark at the box office. She is releasing her first stand-up special, “Tiffany Haddish: She Ready! From The Hood to Hollywood,” airing tonight (Aug. 18) on Showtime. She’ll next be seen in the upcoming TBS series “The Last O.G.” starring opposite Tracy Morgan.
