*FUBU founder and “Shark Tank” staple Daymond John has signed with Gersh for representation in TV, film and transmedia, and in January will release his new book, Rise and Grind, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

John has been with the ABC entrepreneurial reality series “Shark Tank” since its launch in 2009. He famously founded FUBU in his mother’s basement in 1992, and has grown the streetwear brand to more than $6 billion in global retail sales, pioneering an entire $20 billion industry.

“We are thrilled to work with the incredible Daymond John on a multitude of exciting and dynamic business opportunities,” Gersh said in a statement. “From a global perspective, he is the head of an unequaled brand, and we look forward to working with him in finding unique partnerships and developing new content.”

Last year John released the New York Times best-seller The Power of Broke, which won the 2017 NAACP Image Award for outstanding instructional literary work.

John also runs consulting firm The Shark Group as its CEO and last year opened Blueprint + Co, a shared workspace in midtown Manhattan for executives and entrepreneurs who have notched at least $250,000 in sales or annual revenue. Appointed during the Obama administration as a presidential ambassador for global entrepreneurship, John sits on the boards of The Petco Foundation and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship and is an ambassador for Global Citizen, the Global Poverty Project and the My Brothers Keeper initiative.
