*The cast of Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen lost their minds when Beyonce showed up unexpectedly in the audience on Thursday (Sept. 14), and then ventured backstage afterward for a surprise visit.

“The entire cast was freaking out, but it was totally a mutual experience,” a source told Us Weekly. “She was so generous with her time.”

“It happened,” star Ben Platt (“Pitch Perfect”) captioned a tweet of himself talking to Queen Bee at New York’s Music Box Theatre. On Instagram he captioned the same pic, “The alien called me an alien and I’m no longer living.”

The insider tells Us that Bey appeared to have been moved by the performance, even crying throughout the show.

Other cast members — including Laura Dreyfuss and Kristolyn Lloyd — also gushed over their Bey experience on social media.

“I’m not okay,” Dreyfuss captioned an Instagram photo of the cast posing with the singer.
