*It appears Malia Obama has been well-trained on how to deal with the nosy and curious public — so she won’t be getting caught up in any potential headline-making traps that could be set up by the media.
According to reports, the 19-year-old, who is attending Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, “is being photographed by other students who attend the Ivy League research university.”
She even gets approached by parents or relatives of the students asking for pictures, autographs and her opinion about politics.
But when a recent awe-struck encounter with a grandmother didn’t end well, the future filmmaker “screamed and asked to be left alone,” according to TMZ.

However, not everyone is disrespectful toward the former first daughter. Boston Globe reporter Steve Annear notes he recently met Malia while working on a piece on campus. He introduced himself to her and asked if she would answer a few questions. Aware that anything she said on any topic will be used against her and her family, Malia told the reporter “no comment.”
Former President Obama previously stated in an interview with People that he knows Malia is ready to take on this wicked world.
“They are ready to get out, just out from their parents’ house. The fact that their parents’ house is the White House may add to it. But Malia is going off to college. She is a grown woman,” he said.
A source close to the family explained: “Malia [Obama]‘s parents trust her and know she has a good head on her shoulders, but it is still hard for them to let go.”
Adding: “They understand that she is spreading her wings, that she is bound to make some mistakes and they are okay with that. But as much as they trust her they cannot help but worry about her. Malia and her parents are still super close, and she is really sweet with them.She calls them pretty much every night to check in; she is very respectful.”
