*With the true meaning of Christmas notwithstanding, we all know how tough the holidays can be for some folks; including low income and single-parent families). That’s why its so beautiful to see these families being shown love and support by those who can. In a beautiful show of compassion and generosity, two lovely women — actress, producer and author Vivica A. Fox; and her BFF, health coach and entrepreneur Azja Pryor — came together to share the blessings they have been so fortunate to receive.

…and the Electronic Urban Report was there, exclusively, to capture the moment in time.

It all began when the women initiated an invitation on social media platforms asking those who know of families that can use some help for the holidays to submit a letter. Aptly titled Christmas Cheer Angels, the women had  only one request, that they be “single-parent” families. In turn, each winning family would receive up to $1500 in gifts for the children; brunch for everyone with the two hosts, and a makeup and hair styling session for the moms — compliments of Vivica’s own team of beauty experts — celebrity makeup artist Tai Young and hairstylist Mary Turner.

As you can imagine, the letters poured in.

The heartfelt letters were from family, friends and even colleagues familiar with each of the families. Once chosen, the families were asked to forward their children’s Christmas Lists. When all was said and done, the two “Christmas Cheer Angels” had a hard time stopping at two families.

Three families were chosen to receive the gifts. And for two of the families with infant children, LÍLLÉbaby, the brand for which Pryor serves as Ambassador, learned of the event online and reached out to Pryor asking how they could help. They ended up donating baby carriers and doll carrier to two of the families.

It’s hard to even imagine the challenges these three young families have faced. For example, Shainie Thomas rears her 6 children, aged 1 through 16 alone since their father, Reginald Thomas, was killed by Pasadena police last year.

Enjoli Wells is a mother of four who raises her family in Inglewood, CA. The children’s ages range from one-month to 16 years old. Enjoli, who spoke with EURweb in the video below, was brought to the attention of the hosts via a letter from her mother — who suffers from congestive heart failure. In the beautiful letter Enjoli’s mother writes, she’s “so grateful for her daughter being there for every doctor appointment, driving her everywhere, even though Enjoli has her own challenges … giving birth prematurely to her last baby.”

Finally, Great Aunt Chanathay Marks touching letter reached the women’s hearts. Marks is raising her 4 Great nephews and niece whose ages range from 10 through 15 years old. All of the children live with special needs and returned to the home of Ms. Marks only recently after being separated in foster and group homes. Chanathay is raising the children on a fixed salary, with zero assistance.

Many know Fox as one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood. With dozens of well-known films to her credit including Independence Day, Independence Day: Resurge, Kill Bill, Why Do Fools Fall in Love?, and Set It Off, Fox put her name, money and reputation on the line to tap into the entrepreneurial market where she launched the scrumptious Vivica’s Black Magic. Billed as the ‘ultimate ladies’ night experience’ the event unveils in the form of a revue showcasing an all-male exotic dance troupe. Among her numerous upcoming projects is a memoir titled, Everyday I’m Hustling; new episodes on the hit FOX television music-drama Empire and a Christmas movie slated for 2018.

Thousands of social media followers sing the praises of entrepreneur Azja Pryor, who has built a solid career as a health coach. Pryor has showcased her climb via videos of hard work including gym workouts, strenuous hiking excursions, yoga and her faithful Herbalife diet. Followers watched in awe as the mother of a 19-year-old son danced to Bruno Mars24K Magic in the labor room 8-1/2 months ago, when she brought a beautiful, healthy, baby girl into the world along with fiance, Cherif Ndiaye. Those same followers watched as Azja — the daughter of EURweb senior editor, DeBorah B. Pryor — lost every pound and inch of the weight she had put on within30 days after childbirth — a feat she credits to her healthy lifestyle.

As Azja mentions in the video below, which was shot and edited by her son, Destin Tucker, a Morehouse College freshman that it was a special childhood memory that inspired the idea for the Christmas Cheer Angels.

With her mother on duty for the EURweb exclusive Azja says…

“…someone did that for my family when I was young. It’s something I will never forget. It was one of my best Christmases, and I feel that every child should have a reason to smile on Christmas morning.” –Azja Pryor

As they pose for a HAPPY HOLIDAYS video below, it may have only been one day, but from the looks on these happy faces, it was a day these families will not soon forget!
