*During Tuesday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” a caller asked “CBS This Morning” host Gayle King about her favorite present from Oprah Winfrey.
“After I had my second baby—and they’re 11 months apart, where you say to the doctor ‘I thought this diaphragm was supposed to work,’—she gifted a live-in nanny,” King told Bravo host Andy Cohen. In case you didn’t know, King has been best friends with the queen of all media since 1976.
After she shared her story on WWHL, Cohen joked he wasn’t sure what kind of gift the anchor was going to mention.
“I didn’t know where you were going with that,” he said “A condom?”

“No!” King said with a laugh. “The point I was making was I didn’t plan to have babies that close together. You know what I mean, guys in the audience. But that was a good gift.”
King’s children are adults now, daughter Kirby Bumpus and son Will Bumpus Jr. She was married to their father, Bill Bumpus, an attorney and an assistant attorney general in Connecticut, from 1982 to 1993. Back in 2016, Bumpus publicly apologized for being caught in bed with another woman while he was married to King.
Gayle revealed her ex cheated on her while completing Vanity Fair‘s Proust Questionnaire. When asked what living person she most despises, the TV personality. answered, “I’m not a huge fan of the woman who I caught naked with my now ex-husband on June 24, 1990, at 9:16 p.m., but I don’t remember the details.”
