Katt Williams Makes Movie Return with ‘Father Figures’; Shares Personal Vegas Road Trip Memory (WATCH)

*It’s been a minute since Katt Williams blessed fans with comedic quotables and scene-stealing actions on the big screen, but the funnyman is set to make his return with “Father Figures,” a new comedy that finds Williams in a different light from what we’ve seen.

To hear him tell it, quality was the motivator for reemerging in the world of feature films.

“I just wanted to make sure that when I came back to movie land that I did something that resonated for me and for other people and was a quality project and I was gonna start as soon as I found that,” Williams told EURweb, as he labeled “Father Figures” “an answer to what my prayers were.”

The Alcon Entertainment release follows Williams’ appearance in the 2015’s “American Bad Boy” and the 2014 comedy “School Dance,” opposite George Lopez, Tiffany Haddish, Bobby J. Thompson, Luenell and Mike Epps.

Directed by Lawrence Sher, “Father Figures” centers on fraternal twin brothers Kyle (Owen Wilson) and Peter (Ed Helms) Reynolds, who learn their father is still alive and set out on a road trip to find him.

Along the way, the siblings learn more than they need to know about their mother (Glenn Close), who lied to them about their father being dead, and the many men she had relations with in the 1970’s.

Williams ends up on Kyle and Peter’s quest as a hitchhiker they pick up while following up on a lead to where the twins’ father currently resides. In addition to Williams, Wilson, Close and Helms, “Father Figures” features Ving Rhames, Terry Bradshaw, J.K. Simmons and Christopher Walken.

Thinking of the movie’s road trip scenario, Williams couldn’t help but remember a certain trek he took with friends to Las Vegas years ago when he was a new face in Hollywood. Although Williams didn’t name names, he did reveal “all four of the people that were in that particular car are all highly successful comedians right now to this day.”

“Father Figures” arrives in theaters Friday (Dec. 22). To hear the full story from Williams on what happened on his road trip to Las Vegas, check out the video below:
