*Authorities have declined to file sexual assault charges against Nelly because his accuser is not cooperating with the investigation, according to The Blast.

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office decided to drop the case after the woman who accused Nelly of sexually assaulting her on his tour bus in Washington told investigators she did not want to testify or assist with the investigation.

According to a statement from the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, although “police responded to and investigated a sexual assault allegation” involving Nelly, “within days of her initial report to police, the complainant, through her attorney, informed investigators from the Auburn police department that she did not wish to assist in prosecution or the investigation” of the rapper.

There were previous reports of the woman wanting the case against Nelly dropped. In a letter obtained by The Blast, her lawyer, Karen Koehler, who identified her client as a 21-year-old college student, said her client “never wanted notoriety” from her claims.

The letter says that the woman “cannot handle” the “horrible things” that were said since she accused the rapper of rape, and that she “wants this to end.” It is also mentioned that the detectives handling of the case didn’t ensure the woman’s privacy.
