*Oprah Winfrey will add another racial milestone to her packed collection, courtesy of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
The group, which determines the nominees for the Golden Globes, announced Thursday that the mogul will receive its coveted Cecil B. DeMille Award, given annually for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.”
Winfrey is the first black woman to receive the honor, and the 15th woman since the award was initially handed out in 1952.
“As a global media leader, philanthropist, producer and actress, she has created an unparalleled connection with people around the world, making her one of the most respected and admired figures today,” HFPA President Meher Tatna said in a statement.
Winfrey took to Twitter after the announcement, calling the award “an honor.”

Winfrey will be presented the award ahead of the Golden Globes ceremony on Jan. 7, which recognizes the best in both movies and television. The show, hosted by Seth Meyers, will air on NBC.
