The clothing line features several references to the Bible verse John 4:44. One example of the religious links – which overlaps the themes of Jay’s ‘4:44’ album – reads: “A prophet is without honor in his own country.”
According to reports, Jay is also looking to use the mark for perfume, cologne, shaving gel, aftershave, body lotion, bath gel, face cream, and cosmetics, sunglasses, eyeglasses, and other eyewear products.
He’s also asking to trademark the name for “retail and online retail store services.”
In addition to the “AKA SHAWN CARTER” goods, Jay-Z filed docs to obtain the rights to use the name “HOVINO” for use in jewelry, tie pins, key chains, wristwatches, pocket watches, stopwatches, and timepieces.
