*Michael K. Williams is accusing an ex-friend of extorting him for $450,000 because Williams wouldn’t pay out enough money to avoid a potential scandal.

According to The Blast, Michael Kimbrew sued Williams last year claiming he and the actor entered into a deal to become partners in his production company, where Kimbrew was to receive a 20% share of revenue earned by Williams.

Kimbrew claimed he was owed $450,000.

In new court documents obtained by The Blast, Williams is seeking an outright dismissal of the lawsuit, and accuses Kimbrew of filing “to exploit his one-time friendship.” Williams claims “Kimbrew is a one-time driver and ‘hanger-on’, who, having had his demands for money repeatedly rejected by Williams, now seeks to extort hundreds of thousands of dollars from Williams” by filing the complaint.

Williams also accuses Kimbrew of threatening his accountant repeatedly, saying he would commence a “long drawn out ugly legal battle in the media and in the court system” against the actor if he wasn’t paid.

The case is ongoing.
