*Lizzie Dunn, a white woman whose face may be forever disfigured after it met with a can of acid, knew she was lying when she told police that a Black woman panhandler had sprayed the substance on her; after she refused to give her money.
But she told the lie anyway…even filed a police report.
Dunn told police a black woman in her 40s sprayed acid on her face when Dunn didn’t have cigarettes or spare change to give her.
“I didn’t know the person,” Dunn, 52, told the Daily News. “She then asked for money, and I told her no and sorry. It seemed like she was spraying a lot of times, like she had to keep pressing the nozzle,” she told CBS “With my right hand I tried to grab the can and knock it out of her hand, and with the left hand I was trying to shield whatever spray she was misting on me.”
Such detail for what investigators later learned was a bold-faced lie. And why is it so very easy to place blame on Black people? This piece of work is not the first to do so.
